As a result
of a change to Federal law, you may no longer receive a
receipt every time you use your ATM/debit card at ATM machines
or when you use your card for a purchase. New Federal law
provides an exception for withdrawels or purchases of $15.00
or less when using your ATM/debit card. Therefore, for any
transaction of $15.00 or less, the merchant will make the
decision whether to give you a receipt. Federal law continues
to require that a receipt be made available for transactions
over $15.00.

or " 0%" CAR FINANCING
Auto
manufacturers sometimes offer a choice between a cash rebate
and special or 0% financing. If you select special or 0%
financing, you may give up thousands of dollars in rebates.
You are often better off to decrease your loan amount by
applying the rebate as a down payment. Do your homework
before you visit the dealer by discussing your options with
a credit union loan officer.
Special
financing or 0% loans are not always available on
all cars. Some people are attracted to a dealership with
the expectation of special financing on a car they like
but end up buying a different car that may not meet their
needs, just to get the special or 0% financing.
Special financing
or 0% loans are usually reserved for buyers with the best
credit. Normally, not everyone qualifies for these loans and
buyers often don't discover that they don't qualify until
after they have negotiated their deal. To avoid paying more
for your car than you should, always know your credit score
and come to the dealer with a pre-qualified loan from your
credit union.
